Psychotherapy

In times of distress, it’s natural for us to seek ways to sooth and comfort ourselves. Sometimes we choose a path that supports our well-being, and other times we need a companion to walk alongside us as we strengthen our ability to support ourselves. I believe psychotherapy is a process that deepens our capacity to nurture ourselves during difficult times. By fostering compassion, deepening our connection to ourselves, and discovering meaningful ways to contribute to our community, we break the silence and isolation that so often results in the wake of an unexpected life-changing event.

The focus of our work together will be to relieve your discomfort with present circumstances, while developing the skill and confidence to remain calm in the midst of the storm. You will guide the pace and direction of our sessions. Methods we may use include talk therapy, lifespan integration therapy, craniosacral therapy, guided imagery and visualization, the expressive arts, and meditation. By telling your story, you will help support your body’s ability to care for itself.

Many people have a growing awareness of connection between well-being and spirituality. Difficult times can bring questions, confusion, or doubt about one’s beliefs and the meaning of life; it can also stimulate an enduring strength of faith. Our time together can be a place of support and acceptance as you explore your own unique response to uncertainty and change.

With patience and loving-kindness, insight and beauty can unfold where pain and suffering once lived. Yet the process of adjusting to a diagnosis or grieving the loss of a loved one (and other life transitions) can be frightening. I want you to know that I have been there. I get it. I have lived the “dark night of my soul” and I have survived. If you relate to this experience, know that you are not alone. For me, psychotherapy was a rewarding and supportive companion on the journey. And I believe that it can be for you, too.

Appointments and Fees

I welcome the opportunity to talk with you before you schedule your first appointment. I offer a one-time 15-minute telephone or in-person introduction at no charge, so you can learn more about me before we start working together. To schedule your introduction, you can email me or call my office at 425.920.8008.

The fee for your first office appointment is $180 for a 50-minute intake consultation. Continuing office appointments are $120 for 50-minutes or $180 for 75-minutes. Payment is due in full at each session. To make this easier, I do accept credit cards (also debit and checks.) I do not bill insurance directly. Upon request, I will provide you with a statement at the end of the month that includes the necessary information for submitting a claim. I cannot guarantee that your insurance carrier will reimburse you.
